Red Amber Plugs in 4g from Abaraka
Also called Mayan amber, red amber is rare, difficult to mine, and is only found in Chiapas, Mexico. It’s cherry color is the result of iron salts leaching into the outer surface of a larger piece, forming a thin (around 1mm to 4mm) layer of true red material.
Polished on the front and wearable surfaces only, while preserving the natural, rough texture on the back, each 4g (5mm) hand-carved double-flared plug is unique. Wearable surface is approximately 5/16”.
Unlike other organic materials, amber is quite soft and can scratch easily, and is susceptible to heat. Be careful wearing amber on extremely hot days—and never leave real amber plugs on a windowsill or in a car.
