Segment Ring from Anatometal
Segment rings get their name from the small “segment” that actually comes out of the ring to allow for easy insertion and removal. In larger sizes these are preferred over seam rings, as thicker seamless jewelry can be difficult to bend to insert and/or remove. High-polished and made from ASTM F-138 implant-grade steel or black niobium, these are appropriate for well-healed piercings only.
This style of ring usually requires ring openers to open. (If you don’t have openers, have your local piercer give you a hand. Otherwise, you may want to pick a different style of jewelry.) Each segment is individual to each ring, so lost segments cannot be replaced.
